
A wedding took place at St. Joseph’s Church involving Mr Thomas O’Brien Kelly, a solicitor and the third son of Mr John George Kelly from Fedamore, and Miss Helena Cantillon, the eldest daughter of the late Mr Francis Cantillon from Parteen. The ceremony was conducted by Reverend J.M. Cregan, Adm. The bride, adorned beautifully, carried a splendid bouquet of white lilies and orchids with orange roses, a gift from Miss O’Brien of South Hill. The bride was escorted by her guardian, Mr E.J. Long, T.C., and she wore a stunning travel gown of blue cloth, adorned with white silk and a matching hat.
Miss Carrie Cantillon, the sister of the bride, acted as the bridesmaid, wearing a lovely blue outfit with white silk trimmings and a matching hat. She also carried a bouquet gifted by Mrs. O’Brien. The gifts exchanged during the wedding were numerous and valuable, including:
- Bridegroom to Bride: Gold watch and chain, diamond brooch
- Bridegroom to Bridesmaid: Gold pendant watch, gold brooch
- Bride to Bridegroom: Diamond pin, silver-mounted smoker’s cabinet

The couple departed for their honeymoon via the Slsa train to London and Paris. The gifts received were both numerous and valuable, showcasing the couple’s warm relationships and the joyous occasion of their wedding.
