
Kilfinny, Limerick, Ireland – The highly anticipated Limerick County Championship match between Patrickswell (Image) and Rathkeale took place on Sunday at Kilfinny. Despite the intermittent showers, the sports-loving community of Kilfinny and the surrounding areas gathered in large numbers to witness the contest. The field was impeccably prepared, thanks to the commendable efforts of the Kilfinny club, who ensured everything was in order. Several members of the Limerick County Board, including Denis S. Lyons, Patrick Meany, W. Sheehan, T. McNamara, and M. Kelly, were present and provided valuable assistance throughout the event.
The match showcased a commendable display of hurling skills and was largely played in a friendly spirit, save for one minor incident. Rathkeale emerged as the fortunate victors, as Patrickswell exhibited a remarkable performance towards the end of the game. The final score was Rathkeale 2 goals and 6 points, while Patrickswell secured 1 goal and 5 points. Mr T. McNamara served as the referee, delivering an excellent performance.
