
With profound sadness, we regret to announce the passing of Mrs McNamara, mother of Mr J. McNamara, PC, of Shelbourne, Ennis Road. She peacefully departed on Friday evening, her demise bringing sincere sorrow to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances in Limerick and Clare. Although her illness had been known for some time, the news of her passing was met with genuine grief. Mrs McNamara’s extensive network of connections and her kind and endearing nature had earned her numerous friendships throughout her long life. Her sons, daughters, and grandchildren cherished her dearly, surrounding her with love in her final moments. Their hearts are heavy with anguish, and they receive the deepest sympathies from the public in this time of bereavement.
On Saturday evening, the remains of the beloved Mrs McNamara were transported from Shelbourne to St. Munchin’s Parish Church. The funeral took place on Sunday, attended by an outpouring of grief, as mourners paid their final respects at Mount St. Lawrence Cemetery. The large presence of the general public demonstrated the high regard and respect held for the deceased lady and her family.
The chief mourners included Messrs. J. McNamara, A. McNamara, and Thos McNamara (sons), Jeremiah Hickey (son-in-law), J. Canty (grandson), Mrs Canty, Mrs Carroll, Mrs Hickey, and Miss Agnes McNamara (daughters), Mrs J. McNamara and Mrs T. McNamara (daughters-in-law), as well as Jack, Alice, Annie, and Celia (grandchildren). The clergy present during the funeral proceedings were Very Rev Dr Shanahan, V.F., V.G.; Rev Father Russell, C.C., Parteen; Rev Father Begley, CC; Rev Father Rossiter, OFM.
