Limerick – In a demonstration of the city’s commitment to justice and inclusivity, Limerick Petty Sessions imposed fines on individuals who harmed both a local ice cream vendor and an innocent pony. The court upheld the principle that everyone, including aliens, deserves protection under the law.
During the recent proceedings, a man was found guilty of damaging Sfransont Peitri’s ice cream car and was ordered to pay a fine of 1s. Additionally, he was directed to provide compensation amounting to 10s. for the losses incurred by the vendor. The court firmly denounced acts of vandalism and sought to uphold the rights of small business owners.
Another individual faced charges for assaulting a defenceless pony by striking it in the mouth with a clenched fist, resulting in the animal bleeding. Constable McCabe, in his role as prosecutor, presented the evidence against the offender. The court held the assailant accountable for his actions and imposed a fine of 35s. for the unwarranted attack on the innocent creature.
These judgments serve as a reminder that acts of violence against any living being, be it a person or an animal, will not be tolerated within the jurisdiction of Limerick.
