In the Munster semi-final championship match held in Limerick on Sunday, Kerry faced Clare. The weather was favourable, but the attendance was not as large as expected. Kilrush represented Clare, while Tralee represented Kerry.
The first half-hour of the game was less exciting compared to the second half. Clare spent much of the first period defending their lines and struggled to move beyond the centre of the field. By the end of the first half, the score was Kerry 2 goals 5 points and Clare 0.
During the change of ends, Clare showed improvement and quickly scored two goals, effectively containing their opponents for a significant period of time. However, Kerry proved to be the better all-around team with superior combination play. Clare displayed strong defensive tactics, and there were some impressive rushing movements towards the end of the game.
Although there were moments of rough play, the overall contest was conducted in a sportsmanlike manner. The final score was Kerry 2 goals 7 points and Clare 2 goals.
