Passing of a Stalwart Nationalist in Brosna

Brosna, a community steeped in history, is shrouded in sombreness following the recent passing of a dedicated figure, Mr John Harpett. A man beloved by many, he breathed his last near Brosna, leaving behind memories that will endure.

Deceased was not just another member of the community; he was an unwavering and unyielding Irish Nationalist. His commitment to the cause was both consistent and resolute, a reflection of his deep-rooted principles. The funeral procession that conveyed him to his resting place in the Brosna burial grounds was a sight to behold—marked by its dignity and grandeur.

The services were conducted by Reverend Father Casey, P.P. of Abbeyfeale, and Reverend Father Murphy, P.P. of Brosna. The gathering was a composite of individuals from various corners, united in their grief and respect. From counties Cork, Kerry, and Limerick, they came, transcending regional borders to honour the memory of this ardent Nationalist.

On a recent Sunday, the Nationalists of Brosna congregated, moved to pay their respects to the departed soul. In a unanimous display of empathy, they passed a resolution of condolence, offering their collective sympathy for the loss that reverberated throughout their community and beyond.
