The Absurdity of Mails System in West Limerick

The postal arrangements in West Limerick have become absurd due to a misunderstanding between the Post Office authorities and the Great Southern and Western Railway Co. concerning the mail subsidy. This situation has led to difficulties in postal communication at Abbeyfeale with outside places, particularly on Sundays after 3 o’clock. Moreover, there is no mail service leaving for Cork, a city with which Abbeyfeale traders conduct a significant amount of business.

Previously, the system in West Limerick operated smoothly, but the current situation has disrupted postal services, making it impossible to send or receive mail to/from outside places on Sundays after 3 o’clock. Additionally, while there is a mail service available for Dublin and Limerick on other days of the week, there is no such service for Cork, an essential destination for Abbeyfeale’s trading activities.

This absurdity in the mail system is causing inconvenience to the residents and traders of Abbeyfeale, hindering their communication and business dealings with Cork and other locations. The need for a resolution and improved postal arrangements is evident to restore smooth postal communication in West Limerick.
