Our mission is to preserve, research and freely share Ireland’s historical record for present and future generations. Emerald Archives gathers photographs, documents, stories, memories and other evidence of Irish life, from major national events to everyday experiences. We aim to make that material easy to discover, clearly described and responsibly presented. The archive values accuracy, open access, community knowledge and careful preservation. As new material becomes available, records can be expanded, corrected and connected, helping visitors explore how Ireland’s people, places, communities and traditions have changed across time.

Limerick Decalogy, Book Two

Limerick Generations: 1910 to 1919 traces a decade of political transformation, labour conflict, war, revolution and social change across Limerick city and county. When no suitable public-domain image exists, we create carefully researched AI illustrations for archive articles. We also invite the public to submit photographs for restoration and possible publication, with ownership always remaining entirely theirs.
